[ behold, Goldenrod. your new campeador has arrived! Tavros has been on the fly—or, uh, the bull ride—for weeks, with the express purpose of hastening to Goldenrod. of course, the reason this took almost a month and not, y'know, a week or two, is because he got lost. a lot. lost, and held up by wild Pokemon that he had to direct his amazing team of three underleveled Pokemon to battle, with near-disastrous results, and other various paraplegic shenanigans that I would be heartless to describe here, but which may or may not involve the total destruction of his wheelchair somewhere along the way.

so, as grand as it may seem to ride into a big city on the back of a giant hoofbeast, it really becomes less impressive when you take in the weather-beaten and fatigue-stricken appearance of both steed and rider. ]

We did it, Rufio! Unless I'm reading the map wrong, uhh, again, which is a thing that's completely possible, since it happened so many times before, but assuming I'm not, which I don't think I am, for once...

[ his Tauros gives a snort of impatience. Would you get to the point, already? ]

Right, sorry. Anyway, I think this is Goldenrod. It's gotta be, just, based on its appearance, which resembles the descriptions that were given to me, before.

[ clip clop clip clop... clip... clop... Rufio is beginning to slow down. his legs are trembling. Tavros leans down and pats his neck consolingly. ]

It sure is big, isn't it...

[ ...and then he promptly passes out and falls off of his trusty steed sideways, just in time for said trusty steed to collapse over the other way. bull pileup on aisle four. ]

[ takes a moment to consider, then musters up a shaky smile as he takes the granola bar and starts to unwrap it. ]

Okay, well, if you're sure that it's okay, then I'll have it. And also, thank you, for the things that you were giving me in multitude, like I said, just now.

[he nods and smiles-- oh wait... gotta be stern with him!!] Just make sure this doesn't happen again, okay? [he pauses.] Can you stand? You might wanna get your trusty...steed to the pokécenter sometime soon. [that... and sitting on that ground... not good, not good. B(]

[ he looks more scolded by being asked if he can stand than he does by the first part, staring down at the granola bar in his hand, and then sideways at Rufio, who, despite still being exhausted, is watching this exchange with the most fiercely intense glare. ]

I think you're right about, uhh, the part with Rufio needing to receive treatment, definitely, but, then, the part about standing, that's... I can't really do it.

[his brows raise. HOW LONG HAS THIS KID BEEN TRAVELING LKSDFJALKG;WHEAKFJ.] You can't... do it? What is that supposed to mean?

[ sigh, he hates explaining this 8( ]

Well, uhh, the thing is, is that there was an incident at a previous time, as in, before I came here, to Johto, I mean. Uhh, but anyway, during that point that I just mentioned, my legs were made to not work anymore, effectively. So that's why I can't do the standing thing.

[his expression softens some as he listens to Tavros' story. So he's... paraplegic... With that Kanji gets down onto his knees.] You've got upper body strength right?

Huh? I guess so, sort of. A little.

[ oh, don't be modest, Tavros. of course he does! with all the lifting himself up and dragging himself around he has to do? you betcha. ]

Awesome! I'm gonna give you a piggy back ride to the center. If-- that's okay with you...

[there's also the other way-- but this way seems more manly, sob.]

[ no, he can't ride on Rufio... or his other Pokemon, either. pauses. ]

Well, instead of burdening you with, uh, with me, as it were, I could probably crawl there, that's something that I do all the time.

Nope. Not gonna let that happen. 'sides I'm pretty sure your little friend'll try to ram me for walking away. That and I'm pretty sure it'd take you a while to find the center anyways. I've been in town for a while, so I can get you and your pokémon there quickly. [he pauses.] Which reminds me-- you have this things pokéball right?

[ so many reasons for not crawling! he actually kind of spaces out in the middle and then zones back in when he realizes there are questions being asked. ball? pokeball? oh. oh yeah. ]

Yes, uhh, it's right here.

[ pats his belt! ]

Do you think you could return it to it's ball? I don't think I could carry that thing to the center.

Oh, yeah. Sure.

[ with some trepidation he manages to get the ball unclipped from its holster and points it at Rufio, patting him on the side before he calls him back.

...and then falls over on the ground, now that he doesn't have that support to lean against. derp ]

[slakgdjdlskf no you get back here! Kanji scoots over until he's as close as he can get.]

Alright. Uhh-- try reaching for my shoulders?

[ stretches his arms out....... oh god, why are they so heavy all of a sudden. --grabs on! ah yes, he's got this. ]

[After situating Tavros slightly, he slowly gets to his feet. TIME FOR THE BESTEST BRO-PIGGY BACK RIDE EVER.]

So-- uhh... let me know if you're gonna fall or somethin' so I can-- I dunno slow down or tighten my grip.
