[ behold, Goldenrod. your new campeador has arrived! Tavros has been on the fly—or, uh, the bull ride—for weeks, with the express purpose of hastening to Goldenrod. of course, the reason this took almost a month and not, y'know, a week or two, is because he got lost. a lot. lost, and held up by wild Pokemon that he had to direct his amazing team of three underleveled Pokemon to battle, with near-disastrous results, and other various paraplegic shenanigans that I would be heartless to describe here, but which may or may not involve the total destruction of his wheelchair somewhere along the way.

so, as grand as it may seem to ride into a big city on the back of a giant hoofbeast, it really becomes less impressive when you take in the weather-beaten and fatigue-stricken appearance of both steed and rider. ]

We did it, Rufio! Unless I'm reading the map wrong, uhh, again, which is a thing that's completely possible, since it happened so many times before, but assuming I'm not, which I don't think I am, for once...

[ his Tauros gives a snort of impatience. Would you get to the point, already? ]

Right, sorry. Anyway, I think this is Goldenrod. It's gotta be, just, based on its appearance, which resembles the descriptions that were given to me, before.

[ clip clop clip clop... clip... clop... Rufio is beginning to slow down. his legs are trembling. Tavros leans down and pats his neck consolingly. ]

It sure is big, isn't it...

[ ...and then he promptly passes out and falls off of his trusty steed sideways, just in time for said trusty steed to collapse over the other way. bull pileup on aisle four. ]

Really? I mean, the part about showing me around, that would be pretty fun. Probably, uhh, once the nurse people at the Pokemon Center say that I can go, I'll, ask for a new wheelchair, since the one that I had before, uhh...

[ long pause. ]

I lost it.

How did you lose a wheelchair? They're kind of big.

Well, not lost in the normal sense of the word, I guess, but, uhh, lost, as in, it stopped existing in a way that was functional, or practical, or in any way useful, and, uhh, ultimately, it kind of stopped being a four-wheel device and became, I guess, more of a... a one-wheel apparatus. That kind of lost, is what I was meaning.

What did you even do? Not that I'm surprised with your luck or anything, but seriously.

I... it... it fell down a hill. With me in it.

Ehehe, really? Wow, how did you manage that one? There aren't even that many hills and stuff, it's mostly forests!

It's sort of a tale that could get a bit, uhh, long-winded and complicated, and since I already told you how the ending goes, then, probably, it's not worth hearing the whole thing.

Of course it's worth it! It sounds hilarious.

But it wasn't hilarious... it was traumatic in several definitions of the word.

Well, yeah, because it happened to you. But still.

I guess I won't make you talk about it though.

That would be kind of nice, and considerate of you, to do. Or not do, uhh, I guess it is.

Of course it is! I'm always considerate, right?

Well, uh. I guess so.

Are you really doubting me? [yeah, he's trying to sound hurt by that, but the grin on his face? doesn't quite agree with that.]

I was just, you know, trying not to say a thing that was untruthful, but also not rude, or, uhh, not giving you enough credit, and so, with all those factors in mind, the answer was kind of difficult.

Ehehe, you should just go ahead and tell me the truth, Tavros! I know I'm not considerate, I'm just bored and teasing you.

Okay, well, I'll keep that in mind, and also, if you're bored, then, uhh, instead of the thing you're doing now, you could do something else that is more entertaining, such as that exploration of the city that we're in now, that we were discussing earlier.

If you still want to do that, I'm okay with it. You still at the Pokemon Center?

Uh-huh. I'll, uhh, ask the nurses if it's okay for me to go now, since I'm probably okay to go outside, at this point, hopefully.

Alright. You ask the nurses, and I'll meet you there.

[and Sollux will be there shortly! with his Houndoom, of course, who is looking very formidable. and, um. i don't really have a preference either way! i'm cool writing it out or not writing it or whatever. c:]

[ OK LET'S DO THIS THEN B) by the time Sollux gets there, Tavros will have been outfitted with a shiny new wheelchair, and band-aids (with Pikachus on them!) for his various boo-boos. he feels quite awesome about this, in whatever way Tavros ever feels awesome about anything. but it puts him in a good mood, at least, for when someone he recognizes arrives.

well, mostly recognizes, anyway. seeing everyone humanized is even weirder in person. he'll just kind of roll up and make as much noise as he possibly can to announce his presence. ]

Uhh, hey! That's a cool-looking beast, that you have there.

[when Tavros starts to approach, Hellbeast p. much just stares at him, because he has no clue what this strange wheeled person is. but Sollux just smiles when he hears Tavros since, well. they might not be super close, but it's still nice to actually have him around.]

Hey! Yeah, he is pretty cool, isn't he? He's really helpful, too.

I didn't know there were neat kinds of monsters here, like this one, I thought that mostly there were just the small ones like outside.

[ don't be weirded out, Hellbeast! Tavros will just go ahead and Poke-talk to him, introduce himself and all that. it's only polite, after all. and it's all in their heads, so nobody gets to overhear them and think Tavros is crazy. :| ]
