[ Tavros sits on the edge of his hotel room bed, both hands resting on the neck ruff of a Luxray that is seated next to him. she's curled up and mostly asleep, aside from occasionally peeking one eye open and leering at the window, where a small, brown shape can be seen popping up every so often.

for his part, Tavros seems pretty... down. he doesn't speak up right away, unsurely glancing at the camera and then down at the Luxray next to him. when he does start to talk, he keeps his gaze down. ]

I sure have a lot of beasts in my possession that come to me because of the departure of their trainers. After this one I'm starting to kind of wonder why? I mean, uh... not the thing where they come to me, because that part is already something I can ask them why about and they can tell me. The Pokemon, I mean. [ he spent plenty of time communing with this one, that's for sure. ] What I mostly meant was the part about why they have to in the first place, because of having, uhh, nowhere else to go. Since their previous keeper is gone.

[ a furrow in his brow, then he looks over at the camera, frowning. maybe a little angry-looking to go with all that upset. ]

Why is that a thing that keeps happening? To others and not some people, uh, how is that being decided, and by who, that's what I want to know. Because it is making for a lot of sad individuals, and especially sad Pokemon. All of mine are sad Pokemon that miss their trainers.

[ ... sigh. ]

I miss my friends too.

That's also a thing, too. That some people just, uh... don't ever show up here ever, so we never get to see them even though we've been here and made to wait for them for a long time.

[Currently, John is airborne, riding on the back of his Altaria on his way with Rose to go join Jade. Waking up this morning to find a whole bunch of Dave's pokemon in their room meant only one thing, after all. And with Dave gone, Jade was all alone in Kanto.]

I don't honestly know if anyone has an answer as to why it happens, Tavros. It just does and we kind of have to deal with it. It's not a nice thing to have to get used to, but if you don't you'll just work yourself into mess of bad feelings. It's okay to miss them, I miss all my friends that are gone too but...just don't let yourself get too hung up over them, okay? [He gives a weak laugh.] Especially not Dave since that asshole will be back before you know it, he always is. Johto has trouble holding onto Strider swag for extended periods.

[ that might've been reassuring if he wasn't fresh out of a depressing conversation with yet another pokemon, so he just shakes his head, fingers clenching in the blankets on his bed. ]

I guess that nothing you said is not, uh, right? But it still doesn't feel as though it's good enough to make sense for, I guess, these Pokemon, or me either, because it just keeps happening and then they don't come back to get them again.

[Awh, Tavros... Having lost both Toothless and Ziva, Hiccup's feeling pretty sympathetic. But Hiccup's got nothing else to lose...]

It doesn't really seem fair, does it? I don't think anyone really knows--at least, nobody's been able to give me an answer on it.

Well maybe the thing is that the right person isn't being asked, or maybe in the wrong way, or, uhh... at the wrong time? Because, I mean, someone has to know about these disappearances, they're not a thing that can just happen, probably, because I guess there was probably something that made us come here in the first place. So... it would just make sense. If there were a reason.

[ at least, that's what he keeps telling himself. ]

It's just how this place works. People show up without warning, people leave without warning. It'll probably happen to everyone, someday.

We don't really know. Some people have been here for years, and no one knows who decides it. It just... happens.

... Uu-.. Maria often gets Pokémon too from friends who left. Maria's sad too when she knows they miss their trainers..

At least your friends were here for a while...I wish my friends were here a lot. But none of them have appeared at all. [He looks crestfallen at this part. Sadness is infectious, after all.]

That is something I would enjoy knowing. In fact, I've spent a larger portion of my time here researching theories and leads I thought might produce answers for me. Unfortunately I've ended up quite empty handed...

I know they do, because I guess it happened to me, or, uh, so I heard. But... that's also a matter of being random as far as timing is concerned, too.

[Yeah, Vriska's got herself a couple of Dave's Pokémon. She spent a while trying to get rid of them, and that didn't go so well. They wouldn't budge. So now they're back in their balls and she's not sure what to do.

After seeing Tavros's post on the Network, she comes and knocks on his door.]

[ the knock rouses Clockwork from her nap, and Tavros looks up from his Pokegear at the door. ]

Hn. I wish I knew why some stay or leave too. Maybe none of us are really meant to be here, but then why some people have been here almost two years is beyond me.
